My father started this practice in 1976, and I take great pride in continuing to provide high quality service to our patients. I find it very rewarding to be able to serve the community just as my father has done. I spent my childhood here in Hackettstown and remember the days of my youth and the excitement of coming into the office to visit my father. Now when I see my two sons in our office, I am filled with a feeling of great pride and accomplishment. I’ve come to realize how fortunate I am as a dentist as I see how many peoples' lives I have affected in a positive way through caring and effective dentistry. Knowing that is truly gratifying, I feel very blessed.
A native of Hackettstown, I attended Allamuchy Elementary and Hackettstown High School before earning my undergraduate degree at Ursinus College. I continued on to receive my Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Temple University School of Dentistry and completed my General Practice Residency at the Veterans Hospital in Philadelphia.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending family time with my wife, Jamie, our two sons, Benny and AJ and our daughter Katie. My leisure activities include swimming, jogging, and other recreational sports.
Dr. Sonia Chugh graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She furthered her career by completing a General Practice Residency program at Monmouth Medical Center where she became Chief Resident. She is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA) and American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE).
Dr. Chugh is passionate about providing patient centered care in all aspects of dentistry and she most enjoys speaking with patients and educating them on the importance of dental care. For every patient, Dr. Chugh seeks to find a suitable solution that best fits their lifestyle. As a healthcare professional, Dr. Chugh remains engaged and never stops learning by attending study clubs and staying up to date in the latest technology in our field.
Dr. Chugh was born and raised in New Jersey and completed her undergraduate degree at Rutgers University-New Brunswick as a double major in biology and psychology. She also holds a Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Oral Biology from Rutgers University.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Chugh loves to hike local trails, travel and spend time with her husband and two daughters.
After an incredibly fulfilling career spanning over 40 years, I've transitioned away from my full-time practice. While I'm no longer practicing dentistry every day, my love for this profession and our patients remains as strong as ever. I'm immensely proud of the practice I started, built on a foundation of trust and loyalty that has served generations of families in our community. Seeing these relationships flourish brings me a great deal of pleasure. It's an honor to pass the torch to my son, who has not only continued this legacy of excellent care but has also brought his own passion and modern expertise to the practice. I am so proud of the work he is doing and the way he is carrying our family's commitment forward.
